• An ecosystem is a complex web of biotic and abiotic factors
BIODIVERSITY
• Biodiversity- the assortment, or variety, of living things in an ecosystem
• The amount of biodiversity depends on many factors, including moisture and temperature
• High biodiversity- rain forest
• Low biodiversity- desert
KEYSTONE SPECIES
• Keystone species- a species that has an unusually large effect on its ecosystem
• EX- beaver- it modifies the environment from stream to pond and upkeeps it, giving the other organisms a place to live
