• Kingdom Systems Over Time
1753- Animalia, Plantae
All single-celled organisms need their own Kingdom…..
1866- Animalia, Plantae, Protista
But prokaryotes need their own Kingdom too….
1938- Animalia, Plantae, Protista, Monera
Because of how they feed, fungi should be placed in their own system apart from plants…
1959- Animalia, Plantae, Protista, Monera, Fungi
Two genetically different groups of prokaryotes are found, bacteria and archaea….
1977- Animalia, Plantae, Prostista, Fungi, Bacteria, Archaea
• All of the kingdoms can be divided into three domains
