o Producers (Autotroph)- organisms that get their energy from nonliving resources, meaning they make their own food
o Consumers (Heterotroph)- organisms that get their energy by eating other living or once-living resources, such as plants and animals
o All animals rely on producers because they are the base of energy flow
o Most producers use sunlight to conduct photosynthesis
